Row Housing, Accra

This row housing is a series of three houses, each house as a two-level two-bedroom property containing a living area, dining area, kitchen and a guest room. The design of this row housing emphasized efficient use of space, community living, and aesthetic appeal, providing a harmonious balance between privacy and social interaction. The concept of minimalism spearheaded the design of the houses, a combination of simple rectangular forms in an irregular manner to create a simple yet interesting aesthetic. Attention to details in exterior finishes and landscaping enhanced curb appeal, while shared amenities such as green spaces and walkways were also incorporated to foster a sense of community. The greenery incorporated beautifully balanced the use of hard landscaping and enabled the housing units synchronize harmoniously with its surroundings. Other sustainability considerations included rain water harvesting to be reused in the neighbourhood, adopting natural lighting and ventilation as much as possible and also the use of energy efficient fixtures and equipment in the houses.
